Here\u2019s a heartfelt poem inspired by the widows of South Vietnamese soldiers during the Vietnam War.<\/p>\n

In the quiet corners of Saigon, Where the scent of jasmine lingers, The widows gather, their hearts heavy, Their eyes etched with sorrow.
\nThey wear the weight of memories, Threads of love and loss woven into their hair, Their hands, once held by strong soldiers, Now cradle folded flags and faded letters.
\nEach morning, they light incense, Offering prayers to the fallen, Their husbands, sons, brothers\u2014 Names etched on the black granite wall.
\nTheir tears fall like monsoon rain, Pooling in the footprints left behind, As they trace the contours of old photographs, Seeking solace in sepia-toned memories.
\nThe rice fields whisper secrets, Echoes of laughter and whispered promises, Of stolen kisses under moonlit palms, And vows to return, unbroken.
\nBut the war stole more than youth, It took futures, dreams, and tomorrows, Leaving behind empty beds and silent nights, Where once laughter danced like fireflies.
\nThese widows, resilient as banyan trees, Hold their families close, hearts stitched together, Their love letters sent home never faded,
\nIn their immortality, the soldiers who made it home alive weren\u2019t given a hero\u2019s welcome.<\/p>\n
